Traffic Issues Questionnaire   Page 1 of 1       Town of Lexington Traffic Committee Traffic Issues Questionnaire       The Town of Lexington recognizes the importance of a safe and efficient highway transportation system to the economic viability and quality of life of all its citizens. Unfortunately, road improvements have not kept pace with the rapid growth of the Lexington area in recent years. The Town wants to hear your ideas on both the short- and long-term transportation needs of the Lexington area. Your input is important to help build consensus among Town, County, Community and Legislative Delegation leaders to find constructive solutions to these traffic problems.       Instructions Please comment on roads, intersections, and property access in the town that are problematic for you. Please be specific about the location and the problem. The list of questions that follows each of the items is meant only to assist you in developing your comments. You do not need to answer all the questions.     1. Roads Do you avoid any roads? Which 'short-cuts' do you use in the town? Are there any roads with excessive delay? Where do you experience 'bottlenecks'? Are there roads that you feel need to be improved (additional lanes, higher speed limit, additional sidewalks, additional traffic signals)? What improvements?       2. Intersections Do you use an alternate route to avoid any intersections? Are there any intersections with excessive delay? Are there any traffic signals that are a problem?       3. Access Are there any properties (subdivisions, business, etc.) that are difficult to enter or exit? Do you avoid any locations because of problems with entering or exiting? Are there any roads where traffic is excessively slowed due to other vehicles turning into driveways?       4.
